The "Classic" Ultramod Sound
The ULTRAMOD is a self contained FM processing system incorporating a split band stereo audio processor with an ultra transparent digital stereo generator. Modulation control is provided by a unique low second harmonic feedback clipper which provides higher levels of modulation without the masking effect of second harmonic energy. The audio processor section is an ultra-transparent AGC that preserves dynamic integrity while maintaining the modulation peak envelope at its maximum level. Unlike other processors that utilize multiple crossovers to alleviate release time deficiencies the Ultramod's integrated release seeks its own level of long and short term release dependent upon program energy duration, providing exceptionally smooth and undetectable control. Low frequency energy is processed separately with this same concept, separate low frequency clippers are employed along with filtering to provide the best sonic reinforcement possible without subjecting the main signal path to crossover phase shift. The stereo generator is a digitally synthesized format incorporating buffer isolated multiplex ports and four bit resolution of the 38KHz subcarrier. Pilot frequency is digitally derived and always in step, requiring no adjustments. Large scale integration is utilized to hold the cost down without sacrificing performance. Two composite outputs are provided along with a separate pilot output to facilitate interfacing with the Broadcast Technology Comp-Roc II composite processor. The Ultramod is a timely product for today's cost conscious broadcaster who demands the best possible on air sound and the latest innovative circuitry. The simplicity of set up along with sonic integrity makes the Ultramod a force to be reckoned with in any radio market. Features
